From BPO Worker to ₹100 Crore Turnover Fashion Mogul: The Remarkable Journey of a Bangalore Entrepreneur Puneet Bajaj, a native of Bangalore, has defied the odds to become the visionary behind a thriving fast-fashion empire worth ₹100 crores. His story, one of resilience and determination, is a testament to the power of entrepreneurship.

In 2017, Puneet took the plunge into the world of fashion by launching two indigenous brands, IVOC and Bene Kleed, followed by the recent addition of the Mintobay Ecommerce Platform. In an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia, he shared insights into his inspirational journey.

Puneet’s early life was marked by adversity when changes in legislation forced his father to close their family timber business in Assam. Despite the setback, his father prioritized education for Puneet and his siblings. Determined to carve his path, Puneet moved to Bangalore in 2000 to pursue higher education.

To support himself financially, Puneet worked night shifts in a BPO while pursuing an MBA, earning a meager ₹10,000 monthly salary. Despite the challenges, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of education and professional growth.

In 2005, armed with an MBA in marketing and finance, Puneet secured a position as a store in-charge at an export house catering to renowned brands like Zara and H&M. Fuelled by his ambition to venture into entrepreneurship, Puneet diligently climbed the corporate ladder, eventually becoming the head of the garment division within five years.

However, Puneet’s entrepreneurial spirit was not quenched by corporate success. Discontent with the internal challenges and seeking autonomy, he took the leap to establish his export house, Shakti Trendz Pvt Ltd, in 2009. Despite facing financial constraints, Puneet’s determination led him to secure his first client, Peter England, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial success story.

Over the years, Puneet’s ventures flourished, culminating in the launch of his own fast-fashion brands, IVOC and Bene Kleed, in 2017. With a keen eye for market trends and leveraging e-commerce platforms, Puneet strategically positioned his brands, tapping into diverse consumer demographics.

Recognizing the evolving landscape of the fashion industry, Puneet launched Mintobay Ecommerce Platform in 2023, offering a curated selection of his brands’ products. Unlike traditional marketplaces driven by discounts, Mintobay prioritizes fashion and sustainability, embodying Puneet’s commitment to environmental consciousness.

Today, Puneet’s brands collectively generate over ₹100 crores in revenue annually, a testament to his entrepreneurial prowess. Grateful for the unwavering support of his dedicated team and family, Puneet envisions continued growth and innovation in the fashion industry.

Reflecting on his journey, Puneet offers sage advice to aspiring entrepreneurs: “If you have a great idea and business acumen, don’t let financial constraints deter you. With perseverance and strategic planning, funding opportunities will emerge. Take the leap and pursue your dreams.”

Puneet Bajaj’s journey from a modest background to a fashion mogul serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, embodying the spirit of resilience, determination, and innovation.
